How to set up a proxy in AdsPower
Set up an HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 proxy in an AdsPower profile and verify it with the Check Proxy button.
What you need
AdsPower supports HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5 proxies. You need the host, port, login and password. The full string is HOST:PORT:LOGIN:PASSWORD; for SOCKS5 you can also use socks5://HOST:PORT. If your proxy has a separate SOCKS5 port, use it.
Setup
- Click New profile in the top left corner.
- Open the Proxy block and choose Custom (or a proxy you saved earlier).
- Choose the proxy type: HTTP/HTTPS or SOCKS5.
- Enter the details as
HOST:PORT:LOGIN:PASSWORD, or fill in the host, port, login and password fields separately. - Click Check Proxy and make sure the check passes.
- Finish creating the profile and click Open on the Profiles page.
To save the proxy to a list, open the Proxies section and add lines in the format HOST:PORT:LOGIN:PASSWORD, then pick them in your profiles.
Check
- A successful check in the profile shows the message "Connection test passed".
- Open the profile and the IP check page on Hopmind: the address should match the proxy address.
Common problems
- Proxy error: double-check the host, port, login, password and the proxy expiry date.
- Check whether a VPN or another proxy on the device is affecting the connection; turn them off and restart the computer.
- Test the proxy on another device or network: if it does not work there either, the problem is the proxy; otherwise it is your network.
