How to set up a proxy in Linken Sphere

Add an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy to Linken Sphere through the session's Connection block or through Proxy Manager.

What you need

The proxy details in the format host:port:login:password. Linken Sphere accepts exactly this string in Quick paste and in Proxy Manager.

The line for Quick paste and Import from list. Choose the SOCKS5 type only if your proxy has a separate SOCKS5 port.
HOST:PORT:LOGIN:PASSWORD

Setup

  1. On the main page, click New Session.
  2. In the Connection block, choose the connection type: HTTP for the HTTP(S) port or Socks5 for the separate SOCKS5 port.
  3. Enter the IP, port, login and password. To paste a single line, use Quick paste.
  4. Click Check proxy and geo: the app checks the proxy and determines the geolocation, language and time zone from the IP.
  5. Click Create and launch to save and open the session straight away, or Create to only save it.

Through Proxy Manager

For many proxies, Proxy Manager is more convenient: click the Proxy icon in the top right panel, then Add (name, IP, port, credentials) or Import from list, where you choose the protocol and paste a list of HOST:PORT:LOGIN:PASSWORD lines. The app checks the proxies and determines the geolocation itself. When creating a session, choose the proxy from Proxy Manager and the details are filled in automatically.

Check

  1. The Check proxy and geo button shows whether the proxy responds and picks a geolocation, language and time zone for its IP.
  2. After launching the session, open the IP check page on Hopmind: the address and country should match the proxy.

Common problems

  1. Authorization error: check the login and password and that the string was pasted without extra spaces.
  2. Timeout or no response: check the host and port and that the right type (HTTP or Socks5) is chosen for that port.
  3. The language and time zone do not match the IP: click Check proxy and geo again so the parameters are determined from the proxy address.
  4. DNS problems on a SOCKS proxy: if needed, you can enter the DNS server address manually in the session settings.
