How to set up a proxy in Multilogin
Add an HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5 proxy to a Multilogin profile and verify it with the Check proxy button.
What you need
The proxy type (HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5), host, port, login and password. You can paste the whole HOST:PORT:LOGIN:PASSWORD string into the "IP or host" field and the other fields fill in automatically. For SOCKS5, use the separate SOCKS5 port if one is listed with your proxy.
Setup
- Create a profile or open the settings of an existing one.
- Go to the Proxy section (in the help center for older versions it is called Location & Proxy).
- Choose Custom.
- Choose the protocol: HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5.
- Paste
HOST:PORT:LOGIN:PASSWORDinto the IP or host field and review the other fields if needed. - Click Check proxy: on success you will see "Proxy check passed".
- Save the profile and launch it.
Check
- The Check proxy button shows "Proxy check passed" or "Proxy check failed".
- Launch the profile and open the IP check page on Hopmind: the address should match the proxy address.
Common problems
- "Proxy check failed": check the type, host, port, login and password, and the proxy expiry date.
- If the proxy does not use login authorization, leave the login and password fields empty; for a password-protected proxy they are required.
- With a proxy, the profile's time zone, WebRTC and geolocation are filled in automatically; you usually do not need to change them by hand.
- A VPN or third-party proxy apps on the computer can interfere with Multilogin: turn them off.
