How to set up a proxy in Proxifier
Proxifier routes applications' traffic through a proxy even if the applications have no proxy settings of their own.
What you need
The proxy is issued in the format host:port:login:password. In the examples below, HOST, PORT, LOGIN and PASSWORD are replaced with your values from the order.
According to its documentation, Proxifier supports the SOCKS4, SOCKS5, HTTPS and HTTP protocols and login and password authentication. For the main port choose HTTPS, for the separate SOCKS5 port choose SOCKS5.
Setup
- In the Proxifier main window, open the proxy server settings (Proxy Servers) and click "Add".
- Enter the address
HOSTand portPORT. - Choose the protocol: HTTPS for the main port or SOCKS5 for the SOCKS5 port.
- Turn on authentication and enter
LOGINandPASSWORD. - Test the connection with the check button and save.
- In the rules (Proxification Rules), specify which applications to route through this proxy. All other traffic goes direct.
The exact button names depend on the Proxifier version; see the program's documentation.
Check
- The Proxifier connection log should show connections from the target application through your proxy.
- In that application, open the IP check if it is a browser.
Common problems
- The connection check fails: double-check the protocol and port, see proxy not connecting.
- Authorization error: see error 407.
- The application goes direct: it did not match a rule; check the executable name in the rule.
